“Patch” – shoe with a story

“Life itself writes the best stories.”

Refugee Momdou Jallow from Gambia is training to be a specialist in leather processing at children’s shoe manufacturer RICOSTA in Donaueschingen, Germany.

It was his idea to create a new style by using leftover leathers from our shoe production. Each pair individual, each unique. “In my native country Gambia, many new things are created from scraps. People there are extremely creative and clever in using many different materials. Basically nothing is thrown away,” says apprentice Momdou. "The idea inspired us. It corresponds exactly to the values of sustainability, which we pay particular attention to at RICOSTA,” explains Kai Moewes, sales director RICOSTA. The new style “Patch” reflects the spirit of our time.

Designed and produced in Germany, each and every pair is unique and tells it’s own story.
